Patient Education

Prior to any surgery, a patient education coordinator meets with patients and their families because education is an important key in healthcare.

The patient education coordinator will discuss appropriate testing, paperwork, explanation of needs, as well as what to anticipate during surgery.

The patient education coordinator also meets with patients diagnosed with a new disease or those who need additional information on specific medications. Education focuses on the importance of blood tests, diet, medication and exercise.
