Obstetric Education Classes

Prenatal classes are available in both English and Spanish along with referrals to outside agencies and support groups as requested. Educational material in the form of videos, written information and one-on-one teaching is also available during hospitalization.  Tri-County Hospital also provides 2 home visits from an OB nurse.  The first visit is accomplished within the first 7 days after dismissal from the hospital, and the second is accomplished within the first 3 weeks at home.

Obstetric Facilities

The obstetrics unit also provides around-the-clock anesthesia coverage and is able to perform cesarean sections (C-sections) as needed. The department consists of three birthing suites along with three additional private hospital rooms. Each attractively decorated and well-equipped birthing suite blends the warmth and comfort of a home-like setting with the safety and convenience of a modern, full-service hospital and is used by the patient from admission to discharge.

Infants stay in the room throughout the experience and families can visit and bond in complete privacy. The TCH nursery is staffed with excellent nursery personnel who provide infant care as needed.
